Farmers and ranchers should avoid taking government subsidies. If your farm or ranch needs to be subsidized by the government, it’s not sustainable.
We believe the same is true if your farm or ranch needs to be subsidized by other forms of off-farm income – including oil wells and off-farm jobs. Your farm or ranch needs to stand on its own to be sustainable (passed on to the next generation).
