It is always much better to be proactive than reactive. The difference between being proactive and reactive can be compared to the difference between fire prevention and frantically running around putting out fires every day.
Being proactive requires us to think and plan ahead. That, however, doesn’t seem to come naturally to most people – but it can be developed. Those who have developed the ability to be proactive live a much more relaxed, enjoyable, and successful life.
Proactive people have time to do fun things with family and friends. Often, their non-proactive neighbors mistakenly think they are lazy because they are not busy all the time.
In contrast, the non-proactive people are always on the go. Something is always popping up that requires their immediate attention. They never get caught up. There is reason to believe some of these people like it that way – but I’m pretty sure their families don’t like it that way.
Quote Worth Re-Quoting
“If you’re proactive, you focus on preparing. If you’re reactive, you end up focusing on repairing.” ~ John C. Maxwell
