In late August, we evaluated 240 grass-developed bulls at PCC® Headquarters in Colorado. PJ Budler started both days by sharing his philosophies on what bulls should look like. PJ has judged 108 different breeds of cattle in 51 different countries. He is one of very few cattle judges who will not tolerate structural incorrectness.

After PJ’s presentation, Kit Pharo explained what we are looking at when we evaluate and score bulls for 10 different traits. Those traits are masculinity, thickness, muscling, overall rating, hair coat, fly resistance, hoof angle, toe structure, preputial prolapse problems, and disposition.
