How much would you pay for a cow you don’t like? For example, how much would you pay for a cow that is too tall, or too hard keeping, etc., etc.? $2500? $3000? $3500? Why would you even consider purchasing a cow you don’t like?

I just looked at a recent market report from the Ogallala Livestock Auction in Nebraska. They sold 790 bred cows of all ages for an average price of $3600. I was happy to see that a longtime PCC® customer sold a set of four-year-old cows for $4525.

With record-high cow prices, there has never been a better time to get rid of your tall, hard-keeping, and problem cows. If you’re not willing to sell those cows at these record-high prices, you are essentially buying them at these record-high prices. Not selling is the same as buying. Let that sink in – and then ask yourself, “How much am I willing to pay for a cow I don’t like?”
