Someone recently asked me, “What’s different about Pharo Cattle Company®?” Here it is in a nutshell: For over 35 years, Kit Pharo has been selecting seedstock for real-world traits — moderate frame, grass efficiency, calving ease, and fertility. Someone asked me, “What’s different about Pharo Cattle Company®?” The short answer is this: For over 35 years, Kit Pharo has produced seedstock focusing on real world profit-driven traits rather than the latest fads. While the mainstream beef industry has been chasing more growth, frame and carcass at the expense of efficiency fertility, and profit, PCC® has selected for moderate frame, grass efficiency, and fertility, growing into a worldwide influence.

Dubbed a Herd Quitter® because of his contrarian personality, Kit Pharo challenges the way many producers operate. He promotes philosophies focused on problem solving and profit building, leading a movement among cow/calf producers for a paradigm shift, a change in our way of thinking on topics like:
• Pounds per acre rather than pounds per head.
• Calving with nature instead of working against it.
• Graze more and feed less.
• Evaluate bulls by performance on grass, not grain.
• Increase stocking rate through intensive grazing.
• Reduce labor and death loss with calving ease bulls.
• Elevating health rather than just preventing illness.

PCC® sells over 1,000 bulls per year in the US, and many more in numerous locations internationally. We lead the way with genetics for calving ease, heat tolerance, fly resistance, meat tenderness, heart health and grass efficiency. We provide access to industry innovators through our newsletter, website, email updates, podcasts and videos. PCC does more than just sell bulls. We offer a plan and a program to make ranching more profitable and more enjoyable. I’ll see you next time on the Herd Quitter® Minute.
