by | Jun 17, 2026 | Herd Quitter® Roundtable | 5 comments

The first-ever Herd Quitter® Roundtable discussion is here. Kit Pharo and PJ Budler, fresh off of his European tour, dig into Romania’s traceable beef model, the hidden cost of subsidized corn, and why the ranchers with no tradition are often winning. Real talk starts now.

Kit Pharo and the Pharo Cattle Company are the most advanced breeders of phenotypically correct grass cattle that I know of. With over 40 years of creating and improving the ‘efficient grass cow”. The focus is on profit per acre; this is what makes beef farms, small or large, profitable.
I would love to be part of the Roundtable. We need to learn how to apply Pharo Genetics to our context.

That was a very educational discussion. I think there are many different topics you could go into more detail about. It is amazing the amount of knowledge PJ has about the world’s beef production and about Agriculture around the world. Excited to hear more discussions. Kit and PCC have an amazing operation and sell some of the best bulls in the industry.
