We cling to our habits, routines, and schedules hoping to find some normalcy in keeping things the same. No surprises, no major risks, no deviations. We feel safe with the familiar.

Dying Breed delved into this topic in their weekly blog:

“We double down on keeping things as they are, or will only assent to tinkering around the edges. We continue applying band-aids to what are increasingly large fault lines in the status quo. But sometimes, if we don’t embrace wholesale change, we won’t just watch the things we most value slowly erode – we’ll lose them outright. Sometimes, keeping what is essential requires shaking up everything that is not.”

This makes me think that resistance to change is not just a ranching phenomenon. Resistance to change must be a universal problem!

Why is there so much fear in changing things up? Have we become so comfortable that we can’t even stomach the thought of doing things differently? Where is our sense of adventure? Have we become robots addicted to the propaganda that we are fed?

For the sake of humanity, we need to break out of this hypnosis we are living under! Willingness to change is not just about overcoming our fears but thinking for ourselves. Why do we do the things we do? Is there a better way? We should always be looking for a better way!

When we quit challenging ourselves, we quit growing. We become stagnant and lose our sense of purpose. Our life was meant to be an adventure. God loves a great adventure! We were meant to be trailblazers, not cogs in a wheel. We were meant to live life to the fullest!
