Jason Nolf, a former all-American and now international wrestler, shared some thoughts in his Mindset Monday Concept: “If you never risk failing, you’ll never have a great triumphant story. I think this is one of the biggest things athletes have trouble with. People hate losing so bad that sometimes they aren’t even willing to try… But you can’t let the fear of losing stop you from learning and growing and potentially having a really awesome story to tell.”
While Jason is trying to motivate athletes, the parallels to everyday life are apparent. Especially in the beef industry, ranchers are held captive by their fear of being different. It’s almost like it’s ok to fail ranching like your grandpa did, but if you “quit the herd” and try something new and it fails, that’s somehow much worse.
The irony is that you will never know if you don’t try. The fears associated with quitting the conventional ranching paradigm are unfounded. In fact, quite the opposite is true; you will find many more success stories than you will failures.
Pharo Cattle Company® is here to help you in your journey to make ranching fun and profitable. If you are still on the fence, come to one of our fall bull sales and see what all the hype is about. Be careful, though, our positive attitude is contagious!
