Status quo beef publications are chock-full of pictures of structurally incorrect animals. You will see bad feet and leg structure. You will see rectangular-shaped animals. You will see sway-back animals with level hips and high tailheads. If you’re lucky you may see a cow or bull with a baboon tail.

The Angus bull pictured above was found in a bull sale advertisement for a big-name seedstock producer. This bull has horrible hip structure! I cropped the front end of the bull to protect the guilty. Let the buyer beware! If you use structurally incorrect bulls, you will produce structurally incorrect cows that won’t last long.
Quote Worth Re-Quoting
