With the beginning of a new year, I wanted to look back to see which videos created the most interest. Unlike most YouTubers, we’re not trying to generate subscribers or revenue. This is simply another avenue for us to share some proven, common-sense philosophies that have resulted in more sustainable, profitable operations for PCC® producers.

Despite the fact that algorithms on Facebook and YouTube make a difference in the number of hits a video receives, there is some consistency to the most popular titles. We always get a good response on anything about cow size, cow management, or developing heifers. How does that make sense for a company that only sells bulls? It’s because PCC has the inside track on genetics for moderate-sized, fertile, grass efficient, females. It is a simple fact that Kit repeats often: “Like begets like.” You will never produce the right kind of females from a tall, slab-sided, high-growth bull. This is an important fact to remember as you help America rebuild it’s cow herd.

One popular video was titled, “How Many Cows Per Bull.” Kit Pharo contends that forage developed bulls are tougher and more fertile than typical over-fat grain-fed bulls. He suggests that PCC producers use half the recommended number of bulls, preventing injuries and preserving capital. This is hard for many to accept because it’s contrary to the status-quo beef industry. Kit repeatedly asks, “How much is a bull worth that will breed twice as many cows for twice as many years? More than you’ll ever have to pay for him.”

The most watched video in 2025, produced last May, was titled, “Kill the Cow.” It confronts the Environmentalist’s plan to kill animal agriculture with the truth that regenerative grazing and farming practices actually sequester carbon in the soil rather than release it. It shows that grazing is the answer rather than the problem. Believe it or not, farmers and ranchers really care about the land and livestock they steward, as well as the communities they feed.

Thanks for watching, and I’ll see you next time on the Herd Quitter® Minute.

Walter’s Comfort Zone

Walter the Cat spent most of yesterday in an empty cap box in Tammy’s and Kathy’s office. When Walter finds an empty cardboard box, he commandeers it as his own. He crawls inside and spends most of the day there. I see this box as Walter’s comfort zone. He feels...
