I recently re-read a small book called Henry and the Great Society by H.L. Roush, Sr. I first read this book in 2002. The book describes how Henry (you and I) went from the “simple life” and the “good old days” to the “rat race” most people are living in today. I am really glad I re-read it!

This book was first published in 1969. In 1969, most families had television – which continues to be very addictive. No one, however, had personal computers, the internet, smart phones, email and social media. Consequently, the message this book promotes is at least 1000% more powerful today than it was in 1969.

God intended for our lives to be simple and enjoyable. I, for one, long for that type of life. That’s why I enjoy camping and spending time at the cabin. In 2002, you could receive this book absolutely free. Since the last printing was in 1997, there aren’t many copies available. The best deal I found was $4 on Ridgeway Books. Buy several copies and give them away.
