As we approach the New Year, it’s time to start setting some new goals. To be clear, I’m not a fan of resolutions. Resolutions are short-lived, have poor success rates and are often regurgitated failed attempts from the previous years. Who wants to continue to fail year after year? How defeating!
In contrast, goals are life-long and are replaced when achieved. Goals are very necessary. We need to find ways to challenge ourselves to reach our potential. Not just for ourselves, but to develop our God-given gifts and to benefit those around us! Goals are what drive our success.
Farnam Street shared a list from Charlie Munger on how to be successful. It includes the following:
- Don’t sell stuff that you don’t want to buy
- Don’t work for people you don’t want to become
- Create win-win relationships for all
These are great points to consider when setting goals! This year, I encourage you to forget the resolutions and set some challenging personal and business goals that will help you move forward!
Quote Worth Re-Quoting
“If you want to be successful, it’s this simple. Know what you’re doing. Love what you’re doing – and believe in what you’re doing.” ~ Will Rogers
