The first stage of the PCC™ bull sale fall rush is complete. The Colorado and the Alabama sales are in the books. I attended the Colorado sale. It was great from the pre-sale get-together to the final goodbyes. It was also a great time to recharge.
I spend a lot of time talking about recharging your batteries because I think it’s one of the keys to a successful business. Not only does recharging get us off the farm/ranch for a mini vacation, it helps us remember why we do what we do.
One of the hardest things to do is to be different from all of your neighbors. Spending too much time in that environment can make even the most resolute people start to question themselves. We need a support group to encourage us, to reinforce our goals and most of all to share our experiences with.
This is what PCC gatherings (pre-sale meetings, bull sales, bull workdays, etc.) do for me. They reignite the fire in me that sometimes starts to wane.
Talking with other people in the PCC family helps me reconnect with my goals and vision. The world can get me down. It’s nice to know I have a support group that I can vent to and learn from.
It is a 9 hour trip for me to get to the Colorado bull sale. It always seems like there are insurmountable obstacles that try to prevent me from going, but I know how important it is for me to recharge. It’s an added bonus if I purchase a new bull or deliver bulls on my way back home. I’m already looking forward to the next PCC gathering!
