I recently thumbed through the latest Angus Journal. There are literally hundreds of pictures of structurally incorrect cows and bulls. All but one animal had level hips. I guesstimate that at least 75% of the pictured animals also had a high tailhead setting. We refer to that as the anti-fertility bone. Very few of the bulls and cows were wedge shaped.

It’s worse than I thought! These are the Big Boys in the Angus breed. They have been selecting and breeding for the wrong things for decades. Let the buyer beware! These outfits have the genetics to screw up your cowherd. If you want to produce fertile, long-lasting, grass-efficient, easy-calving cows, you need to educate yourself on what is right and what is wrong. This might be a good time to review our Level Hips and Wedge Shaped articles.
