Pharo Cattle Company™ understands that to be successful in ranching you must be profitable and enjoy what you are doing. Profitable and enjoyable go hand in hand. They feed off each other. One without the other is not sustainable.
Similarly, when you have one without the other, you typically take on a “victim” mindset. The reason I’m not profitable is because of: the weather, the markets, the price of fuel, the cost of hay, chance, etc. Or, the reason I’m not happy is because of: my spouse, my neighbors, my kids, no money, fill-in-the-blank.
Farnam Street shared the following insight in their weekly blog concerning this:
“The hardest truth about happiness is that it’s a choice. Watch how people discuss their problems. They’ll spend hours explaining why things are terrible, how unfair life is, and how others need to change. But suggest they might have the power to improve things and they suddenly have countless reasons why that’s impossible. Self-pity feels safer than responsibility.”
That sounds pretty accurate for many people I know in agriculture. BUT it doesn’t have to be that way! There is a better way!
Pharo Cattle Company has the genetics and the philosophies to help you be happy and profitable. If you buy a bull, you also get the opportunity to join the PCC Discussion Forum. This is a group of like-minded people and experts who can give advice on many farming and ranching topics. This group is very helpful (and often entertaining!) because it gives people the power to improve!
